IoT Advantages:

Connecting patients: The Internet of Things can transform the healthcare industry by helping doctors gain faster access to patients’ data. Wearable, Internet-connected sensor devices that track a patient’s heart rate, pulse, or even blood pressure are increasingly affordable, compact and accurate. While there is still some debate over how to safely collect, transmit and use this data, wearables are one of the most promising IoT applications in healthcare.

Efficiency Gains: By gathering and analysing real-time data, IoT can help numerous systems and processes operate more effectively. IoT, for instance, can eliminate equipment downtime, streamline production processes, and cut energy usage in the industrial sector.

Better Quality of Life: By making homes and towns smarter, IoT can help increase quality of life. Depending on the preferences of the tenants, smart houses can automatically change the lighting, temperature, and security systems. IoT can be used in smart cities to increase public safety, decrease pollution, and improve traffic management.

IoT Difficulties:

Cyber attacks: Devices are more susceptible to cyberattacks the more they are connected to the internet. IoT devices can be compromised in order to steal data, spy on users, or even injure people. IoT devices must be built with security in mind, and users must be instructed on how to use them properly, in order to reduce these dangers.

Privacy: IoT devices generate a tonne of data that can be exploited to track user preferences and behaviour. When this information is gathered without the users' consent or shared with outside parties, privacy problems arise. For the IoT ecosystem to preserve user privacy, laws and regulations must be created.

IoT Future Prospects:

5G Connection: With the advent of 5G networks, IoT devices will be able to communicate more quickly and dependably, exchanging data in real time.

AI: By combining AI and IoT, we can create systems that are more effective and smarter by enabling real-time decision-making, increased data analysis, and predictive maintenance.

Considering all stated information we can conclude that the Internet of Things is a revolutionary technology that presents both advantages and difficulties. IoT has promising prospects for the future, and in the years to come, we may anticipate further innovation and advancement in this area.

I believe that this quote by Jared Newman perfectly encapsulates the future scope of IoT :

“And just like any company that blissfully ignored the Internet at the turn of the century, the ones that dismiss the Internet of Things risk getting left behind.” — Jared Newman
